Journey time: approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Our tour starts at Kajakoles cozy base located on Strandgade 50 by the bridge, and can be identified by the 2 green sheds. After some instructions, you will be equipped with head lamps and safety lights, after which we head for the old naval area, Holmen. On our way there we can catch the sunset over Nyhavn, the New Theatre and the Royal Opera.
Around Holmen we find the historical and newly restored Gunboat buildings and some contemporary exclusive architectual buildings in a sharp contrast to Christianias sheds on the opposite side. We also see the old warships which look like dark shadows in the dusk.
After that we row past the beatiful Royal Opera and experience thousands of beautiful lights reflected in the water.
Now it’s become so dark that we turn our head lamps before we continue through Copenhagens canals and experience the beautiful New Theatre building from a exeptional view point. The silence that we experience as we glide through the water is very fascinating and a unique experience.
We stop for a refreshment and a short brake at the cozy Café boat rental in Christianshavn and your guide will serve you some drinks, perhaps an irish coffee will warm? After the break we paddle under the bridge at Christianshavn’s square and follow the canal around until we see the Black Diamond / The Royal. Library in the darkness.
We then sail back home under Knippelsbro bridge and past the Danish Architecture Centre and the Asian square.
Along the tour your guide will of course tell you about the historical buildings and sites and answer your questions.
